Re: Anti-Zionist government

Kadima's government has added a new anti-Zionist decision to its already long list. It will erect barriers against the aliya of Jewish groups in general and the B'nai Menashe of India in particular, the latter despite the fact that the Chief Rabbinate has long recognized them as descendants of Israel. Some 1400 B'nai Menashe have arrived in the country already, gone through a formal conversion process, and assumed the rights and duties of citizens. More than a dozen fought on the front lines of the Second Lebanon War as "lone soldiers," with no family in the country to go home to. Among the new barriers faced by the B'nei Menashe: The aliya of each additional group will require formal discussion and approval by the entire government.

Professors for a Strong Israel sees this decision as a gross violation of the Law of Return, an anti-Jewish and and anti-Zionist step, and a further surrender in the struggle for demographic control of the country. What can we expect next of a government that abandons its responsibilities to its citizens, that impedes the aliya of Jews while furthering the prospect of an influx of Arab refugees to the western part of the Land of Israel?
