Professors for a Strong Israel

Statement to the Press - 5 March 2007

Re: Watching the watchmen?

Ehud Olmert proves once again that he is unfit and unworthy of his position. Following his disastrous prosecution of the war, both at the front and at home, Kadima's leader evaded his obligation to call a state commission of inquiry and preferred to appoint the Winograd commission, appointed by him and beholden to him. This commission has neither the authority nor the reliability needed to investigate such serious failures. More than this: Despite his rhetoric about correction and improvement, Olmert is sabotaging the work of the State Comptroller, our democracy's essential arbiter and critic.

Professors for a Strong Israel wonders still: What more has to happen to make Ehud Olmert and his fellow failures vacate their seats?
