Re: Patently illegal orders should not be given
Professors for a Strong Israel has written to the Attorney General in order to
make clear our position regarding the Gaza "disengagement" plan. The core of
this plan is the eviction of Jewish residents from their homes in the
Land of Israel. We declare in the letter that the forced removal of people
from their homes, based solely on their ethnic and/or religious background,
even Jews evicted by a Jewish government, is in violation of the law.
Any order to carry out such an eviction is patently illegal, and hence
both the giving of such an order and carrying it out is illegal.
We further declare in the letter that hundreds of members of PSI have joined
the struggle to prevent the issuance of these illegal orders by the government.
