Re: Urgent appeal to the Minister of Defense and the
Chief of Staff
Professors for a Strong Israel and the Officers' Forum this morning
addressed an urgent letter to the Minister of Defense and to the IDF Chief
of Staff in which they point to the dangers to Israel's security posed by
any change to the demilitarization of Sinai.
Dr. Ron Breiman and Brig. Gen. (res.) David Hagoell wrote that,
regardless of their views on "disengagement," the minister and the general have
an obligation,
as guardians of Israel's security, to prevent the fateful mistake of
throwing away the primary achievement of the peace treaty with Egypt.
