Professors for a Strong Israel

Statement to the Press - 7 May 2002

Re: Choose: Peace, or a Palestinian state

Professors for a Strong Israel calls on the Prime Minister, the Likud ministers, the Likud MK's, and the members of the Likud Central Committee to vote unanimously this Sunday to reject the idea of a Palestinian state in the western portion of the Land of Israel. Such a state would stand alongside Israel at the start, but eventually would rule over Israel's ruins.

We remind each and every member of the Central Committee that he holds in his hands the power to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state. He can prevent a mortal blow to the life, freedom, property rights, and human rights of the Jewish citizens of Israel. The idea of forced transfer of Jews out of their homes is contrary to the principles of democracy and civil liberties. We condemn any attempt to sacrifice human rights (even the human rights of Jews) and dignity (even that of the Jewish People) on the altar of the false "peace."

We remind the Prime Minister that he was elected in order to ensure a secure future for the Jewish State, not to add a new state to the axis of evil.

We remind each member of the Central Committee that:

Do not uproot that which was planted. Give not dominion to death. And don't allow an enemy state in the Land of Israel.
