Professors for a Strong Israel
Statement to the Press - 8 December 2001
Re: Another Authority that supports terror?
Professors for a Strong Israel condemns the so-called "Israel" Broadcast Authority, which permitted the broadcast of an interview with Chief Terrorist Arafat.
This happened the same week that the Government of Israel declared that Arafat's Palestinian Authority is a supporter of terrorism. We ask:
- Why is the Broadcast Authority helping the Terror Authority to pass messages from the terrorist leadership?
- While the Broadcast Authority bans interviews with assassin Yigal Amir, why is there no problem with giving a pulpit to the most successful killer of Jews since Hitler?
- Would the BBC have dared interview Hitler, and broadcast his words to wartime Britain?
- Why does the public's right to know outweigh its right to life?
We demand:
- the dismissal of those responsible for this debacle;
- the elimination of the television tax, by means of which the citizens of Israel finance the terrorists' propaganda machine.
