Professors for a Strong Israel
Statement to the Press -

Re: The mobilized media
Professors for a Strong Israel deplores the double standard employed by the media as they repeatedly parrot the government's positions while claiming to be the watchdog of democracy. For example:
-
The media acted as the propaganda organ of the short-lived "Four Mothers" organization.
They multiplied the noise made by this handful of women and converted it into pressure that brought about the IDF's flight from Lebanon and the concomitant damage to Israel's power of deterrence.
By contrast, the media are ignoring the first demonstration (today) of the "Forty Thousand Women," held to protest against the threat of "transfer" and abandonment hanging over the heads of tens of thousands of Jews because of the alleged "peace process."
-
They have focused obsessively on the death of Assad, portraying him almost affectionately as having been close to agreement on a historic "compromise."
They are obviously molding public opinion in favor of immense concessions to his heirs.
-
They make constant use of controversial and slanted terms:
- "Peace Process"
- "Territorial Compromise," when the meaning is one-sided withdrawal
- "Territories" for the heart of the country
- "Extremists" for the Right and "Moderates" for the Left
- "Blackmail" when Jews are doing it, but not when it's done by terrorists
These suit the propaganda purposes of the Left, and do not stand up to the standards of truthfulness and skepticism one expects of the press in a democracy.
