Professors for a Strong Israel
Statement to the Press -
12 April 2000
Re: Report of the Annual Conference
Professors for a Strong Israel and the Forum for a Secure and Strong Israel
held their annual conferences jointly today in
Jerusalem.
The participants of the conference issued the following
statement:
Professors for a Strong Israel and the
Forum for a Secure and Strong Israel
are deeply concerned at the atmosphere of surrender that
surrounds the Government and its leader, and at the concomitant
abandonment of large areas of the Homeland.
We urge Prime Minister Ehud Barak to return to the path of
the Zionist vision.
This means:
- safeguarding the Golan Heights;
- maintaining Israeli rule in Judea Samaria, and Gaza,
and strengthening settlement there;
- steadfast attention to the integrity of Jerusalem,
the unified capital of Israel, and its environs.
This is the only path to security and peace, and only thus
can Israel's survival as a Jewish state be assured for the
long term.
