Re: Fire the "Defense" Minister
"Defense" Minister Amir Peretz is trying to preserve his disintegrating position by denying the property and residence rights of Jews in Hevron and by expelling them from the house they bought legally. This may be the job given him by the extreme leftists who sent him to the Knesset, but it is not the job of a defense minister. We recall that there has long been an army guard post on the roof of the building in question, because the building is ideally placed to provide security for Jewish traffic between Kiryat Arba and Hevron. The IDF has not demanded emptying the building because it understands what the leftist Olmert-Peretz government denies: Civilian Jewish presence improves security and makes it easier for the army to carry out its real tasks.
Professors for a Strong Israel demands the immediate firing of the "Defense" Minister whose only concern is saving his political skin, at the expense of the country's security.
