The media have seized upon Prof. Hillel Weiss as the latest political punching bag, and as a new excuse to avoid the central issue in the latest Hevron outrage. This is, once again, the use of the nation's security forces in a vile political maneuver, the expulsion of Jewish families from their homes, Jewish property in the City of the Forefathers. Over and over, the Jews are called "squatters" while in fact they have been living in the homes with the permission of the owners, none other than the descendants of the original owners, martyrs of the Arab pogrom of 1929.
Professors for a Strong Israel protests once more against the political bias of the Israeli media and against the slant in every news story. We condemn the unholy hue and cry -- even threats of boycott -- raised against Bar Ilan University because of words spoken by a member of its faculty outside the campus and with no relation to any professional activity.
