Statement to the Press - 14 February 2006

Re: Election pandering

When the Minister of Defense proposes, one month before an election and in the middle of a war, to knock a third off the period of compulsory army service, it means one of two things:
  1. The minister is detached from reality and thus unfit for office.
  2. The minister is pandering to the voter and intends to forget the whole thing the day after the election.
Professors for a Strong Israel urges the voters to vote no confidence in this Minister of Defense and in the Prime Minister who directs him.
