Professors for a Strong Israel
Statement to the Press -

Re: To prepare, not to threaten
Government figures and the media, both Israeli and American, have been trying to terrify the Israeli public with predictions of war if Israel fails to surrender to Arafat's demands. Some reserve officers have joined the chorus as well. In response, Professors for a Strong Israel states:
- Surrender to blackmail won't prevent war, but will make it more difficult to win.
- The Oslo process by its very nature cannot lead to peace but only to war, in the worst possible circumstances.
- As even Oslo's supporters are beginning to realize, both continuing the process and ending it will lead to war.
- The Prime Minister must extricate himself from the Camp David trap immediately. He must return home to prepare the army and the public for the ghastly consequences of the Oslo accords and of his own policy.
