Re: High Court suit against the commander of the Southern Command
Professors for a Strong Israel has filed suit against the Minister of Defense, the Chief of Staff, and the commanding general of the Southern Command in the wake of the order issued by the general that limits the freedom of movement of Israeli citizens in the Gaza Strip and in areas to its north and east.
This order is an abuse of authority and unwarranted interference by the military in the lives of the citizens; it also interferes with the right of democratic protest by opponents of "disengagement" on either side of the Green Line.
The order exceeds any reasonable limits and effectively places areas of Israel under military rule.
