Re: PSI's activities following the Wye Memorandum
Following the signing of the Wye Memorandum, Professors for a Strong
Israel held an
emergency meeting at which more than twenty members expressed their
view of the current situation.
Subsequently, the Executive Board sent a letter to MK’s of the Land of
Israel Front, calling on them to act only after the establishment of a
united New National Camp.
The Board also sent a letter to all members of the Central Committee
of the National Religious Party, urging them to vote against
the dangerous accord.
Finally, the Board sent a letter to the Prime Minister
in order to notify him that PSI will not support him if he continues in
his current policy. Following that letter, the Executive Board
met with the Prime Minister's Bureau Chief, and then with Mr.
Netanyahu himself.
