Professors for a Strong Israel
Statement to the Press - 18 November 2001
Re: NO to a Palestinian state!
Professors for a Strong Israel demands that the Prime Minister follow the mandate given him by two thirds of the voters -
- to prevent the creation of a Palestinian state west of the Jordan, for this would entail the destruction of Israel;
- to fight the terror of arch-terrorist Arafat, and not to negotiate with him in any framework;
- to free Israel from the "peace process" that began with the Oslo agreement and has led to the Oslo War.
Towards the implementation of this mandate, we demand that Mr. Sharon do the following:
- Fire the Foreign Minister, Shimon Peres, who continues to lead an unwilling nation along the Oslo path.
A Government of National Unity is needed for prosecuting the war, not for continuing the surrender.
- Take Israel's public relations campaign out of the hands of the Foreign Office, which is still captivated by the Oslo folly.
- Proclaim a military state of emergency - in addition to the economic state of emergency - and prosecute the war properly.
- Declare the Palestinian Terror Authority to be the enemy and order the army to fight it until the final elimination of Arafat.
- Fund the war with the money that will never reach the Terror Authority.
- Never abandon the condition of "seven days of quiet," which puts the lie to the repellent parallel drawn by the Mitchell Plan between settlement and terror.
- Appoint a commission of inquiry to investigate the disastrous Oslo process.
If the Prime Minister is unwilling to fulfill the wishes of the voters, there will be no escape from new elections that will give the nation an opportunity to repeat its cry:
NO to a Palestinian state!
