Professors for a Strong Israel
Statement to the Press - 22 January 2001
Re: The Government's helplessness and the destruction on the Temple Mount
Standing aghast at the continuing rampage of the Wakf and of Arafat's agents on the Temple Mount, Professors for a Strong Israel
- deplores the Barak Government's helplessness in the face of the injury to Israel's holiest site, of the damage to priceless archeological remains, and of the undermining of Israeli sovereignty in the heart of her capital;
- demands that the Prime Minister and the Mayor of Jerusalem block the passage of the trucks that are dumping the remains of the Temple to the garbage heaps;
- demands that the Prime Minister instruct the Minister of Internal Security to reimpose the rule of law in the capital, rather than striving to divide the city in the few days left to him in his job;
- deplores the talks that the Government is holding in Taba under enemy fire, and the undemocratic coup that these false messiahs and priests of the "peace" cult are trying to pull off before they disappear from the scene.
