Allow me to congratulate you on behalf of myself and the hundreds of members of Professors for a Strong Israel upon your being elected Prime Minister of Israel.

Your words in your victory speech in Rabin Square, in which you called for unity and reconciliation, for healing the rifts among our people, open a new page in the relationship between right and left, between religious and secular, and among other sectors in Israeli society.

We hope that you will succeed in implementing this goal, which is not an easy one. We call upon all the political parties, from Meretz and Shinui on the left to the National Union on the right, to find the way to help you realize this lofty goal.
