Professors for a Strong Israel

Statement to the Press - 24 September 2007

Re: Corrupt Olmert has no mandate

Even as Ehud Olmert furthers the interests of the enemy, Holocaust denier Abu Mazen, and hatches plots to hand over the heartland, the ring of investigations surrounding him is tightening. And once more we see a connection forming between the extent of the withdrawals and the extent of the investigations.

Following the Attorney General's decision to begin a criminal investigation of Olmert's dealings, Professors for a Strong Israel demands once more the Prime Minister's resignation. Even ignoring the several corruption scandals, Olmert has no mandate to evict citizens from their homes and hand over the homeland to the enemy. All the more can this be said of a man who has failed in his public responsibilities and threatens Israel with further untold damage.
