Professors for a Strong Israel

Statement to the Press - 25 September 2001

Re: An urgent appeal, on the eve of Yom Kippur

Professors for a Strong Israel demands that the Prime Minister clarify his comments on a Palestinian state - they must refer to a state on the eastern side of the Jordan River. After all, on the western side there is room for only one sovereign state, the Jewish State.

Furthermore, we expect the Prime Minister to fire the Foreign Minister and thus to put an end, once and for all, to the degrading courtship and pursuit of Arafat. Even Assad refuses to meet with the Nobel Terror Laureate! If "Arafat is our Bin Laden," perhaps Bin Laden should get a Nobel Prize?

We call on the ministers of the National Camp, from the Likud and the other parties, to stay in the government and to bring about the dismissal of Shimon Peres. The alternative is to make the Prime Minister even more dependent on the foibles of the architect of the Oslo War.

On the eve of the anniversary of the Yom Kippur War, brought about by a failure of intelligence, we call on the government to heed the intelligence estimates of Arafat's war plans. Peres' dangerous preconceptions will only continue to lead us to disaster.
