Re: Cut the budget of the Foreign Office

Professors for a Strong Israel has called on the Prime Minister and the Finance Minister to reject out of hand the request of the Foreign Minister for a special increase in his ministry's budget. It is galling that he supports this request by citing the current emergency. No-one is more responsible for this emergency than Peres himself.

We have also renewed our demand that the state's information effort be taken out of the hands of the Foreign Ministry and transferred to the Prime Minister's Office.

As long as Peres is Foreign Minister, his policy will be Oslo and Arafat will be his partner. As long as Peres refuses to carry out the policy demanded by the large majority of voters in 2001, any money given to the Foreign Ministry goes down the drain of nine years of failed policy.

We recommended to the Prime Minister that if there is money for any budget increase, the beneficiaries should be the Registrar of Associations and the Israel Police. They can use this funding for the investigation of the Peres Peace Center at Tel Aviv University, regarding the unfolding scandal of the sources and the spending of its money.
