Professors for a Strong Israel
Statement to the Press - 26 December 2004
Re: A failure of "conceptzia" - again??
Professors for a Strong Israel asks the Prime Minister:
- Doesn't the death of Arafat create a need for a pause and a reevaluation
of the reality around us?
- Has there been any essential change in the Palestinian Terror Authority
that would justify a positive attitude toward it?
- Isn't it past time to eliminate the Authority from our country, instead
of treating it as a permanent feature of the landscape?
- Is the problem really one Abu X or another, or is it the very existence
of a Terror Authority in the heart of the country?
- Is Israel refusing to "intervene in the elections in the Authority," or
are we pouring support into Abu Mazen?
- Is the freeze on anti-terror activity during the election going to
extract a heavy price in blood afterwards?
- Is the permission granted to the activity of armed terrorists (the
many Palestinian "police" organizations) anything other than a return
to Oslo?
- Isn't it time to disengage from the Peres-Sharon misconception
(conceptzia) and to return to a real war against terror?
Any responsible government would now stop to reevaluate the increasingly
dangerous strategic situation - rather than continue the conceptzia
with eyes wide shut.
