Professors for a Strong Israel joins in mourning the victims of this terrible tragedy and in demanding a thorough investigation. Nevertheless, we point out that, despite the pain and the shock, the Versailles disaster is dwarfed by the Oslo disaster.
We demand the calling of a state commission of inquiry to investigate the failures of planning and execution on the part of the architects of Oslo. It came as absolutely no surprise that their policy collapsed like a house of cards. The commission should investigate the performance of the various government authorities, determine whether there is suspicion of criminal liability, accuse those who are to be accused, and recommend measures that will stop the architects of the disaster from doing further damage.
Just as the media have taken it on themselves to expose the Versailles scandal, we expect them to expose the Oslo scandal and to cease offering their services to the former captains of the Oslo ship of fools. It is inconceivable that the builders of the Versailles hall be repeatedly interviewed by fawning reporters who encourage them to whitewash their actions and praise the result. Just so is it inconceivable to offer the same podium to the planners of the Oslo War.
