Professors for a Strong Israel

Statement to the Press - 27 February 2002

Re: The Saudi initiative we really need

A Saudi peace initiative can be a good thing. Saudi Arabia is rich in territory and in cash. It can offer a lasting solution to the plight of millions of professional refugees (or if you prefer, the victims of a professional refugee leadership). A regional problem requires a regional solution, made possible by Saudi Arabia's fabulous resources. Egypt can help, too, in permitting the expansion of the Arab population of Gaza into the voids of Sinai in order to relieve the overcrowding of Gaza. And Europe can help as well, by providing funding for this instead of for the Palestinian Terror Authority and its supporters in Israel.

Professors for a Strong Israel calls on the Prime Minister to put the Saudis, the Egyptians, and the Europeans to the test. See if they can make an effort that is honest and realistic, instead of the charlatanry we have seen so far.
