In contrast, the government of Israel, careful of its image in the corridors of foreign power, protects the "innocent" among the enemy, even endangering the lives of IDF soldiers to do so.
Professors for a Strong Israel, together with the rest of the nation, believed that the government had learned the lesson of the Jenin debacle in Operation Defensive Shield, in which 13 soldiers lost their lives. We believed that the government would never again endanger our soldiers, our sons, in order to shield enemy civilians who in turn are shielding enemy terrorists. We demand that the government act with determination and resolution to crush the enemy and attain the strategic objectives of this defensive war, while taking care to protect our soldiers' lives.
