Professors for a Strong Israel
Statement to the Press - 2 September 2001
Re: Who's in charge, Churchill or Chamberlain?
In these days of terrorist bombings, even as the enemy kills Jews and incites the world against Israel, the Foreign Minister continues his courtship of Arafat.
Once more, Professors for a Strong Israel warns the Prime Minister against Shimon Peres' subversion.
We remind him that he was elected to be a Churchill, not to be the puppet of a Chamberlain.
Winston Churchill fought for victory over Adolf Hitler
- without negotiations in wartime;
- without negotiations after the war;
- without paying protection money, certainly not in the form of British territory;
- without giving Hitler's representatives free access to the Allied media;
- without allowing ministers and members of Parliament to consort with the enemy.
Churchill led Britain with determination even when she faced Hitler alone.
This is what is demanded today of Ariel Sharon.
It is time to deprive Peres and the others architects of Oslo of their ability to damage Israel's security.
