Professors for a Strong Israel

Statement to the Press - 9 November 2000

Re: The commission of inquiry we really need

Ehud Barak has surrendered again, this time to the pressure of the Left and the Arabs to appoint a state commission of inquiry into the Arab deaths in the recent riots. Professors for a Strong Israel demands the calling of another commission of inquiry, one that will investigate the events and illegalities that led to the Oslo agreement and to the general collapse of Israel's security, of which the recent riots are but an example.

In any proper society, any public figure responsible for even a less serious failure would accept his punishment and resign from public life. In the post-Zionist Israel, Peres and Beilin continue to direct events, even as their handiwork blows up in their faces.
